Recently, led by the international EIT Research Group in Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, a team of leading experts from 12 countries—including China, Germany, Italy, Japan, Brazil, and others—jointly completed the world's first "Recommendations on Lung Ventilation and Perfusion Assessment Using Electrical Impedance Tomography in Critically Ill Adult Patients." These recommendations will be published in 2025 as a supplement to *The Lancet*. Grounded in a systematic literature review and Delphi method expert voting, the consensus document outlines 87 actionable recommendations, aiming to promote the standardized and clinical application of EIT technology.

From September 4 to 7, the "16th Annual Meeting of the Chinese Medical Association Branch of Critical Care Medicine and the China Conference on Critical Care Medicine 2025," hosted by the Chinese Medical Association and the Critical Care Medicine Physician Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, and organized by the Chinese Society of Pathophysiology, the Critical Care Medicine Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Pathophysiology, the Jiangsu Provincial Medical Association, the Jiangsu Provincial Medical Association Branch of Critical Care Medicine, and Zhongda Hospital Affiliated to Southeast University, was held in Nanjing.

The 8th Congress on Critical Illness Research and Treatment Technology concluded successfully in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province on February 23, 2025. The congress was hosted by the Chinese Society of Pathophysiology and the Chinese Society of Pathophysiology, Critical Illness Medicine Professional Committee, and co-hosted by the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, Critical Care Medicine Physician Branch, Guangdong Medical Association, Critical Care Medicine Branch, and Guangdong Medical Doctor Association, Critical Care Medicine Physician Branch. Shenzhen People's Hospital and Shenzhen Medical Doctor Association, Critical Care Medicine Physician Branch served as the undertaking units. The congress brought together numerous renowned experts and scholars from home and abroad to discuss the latest research findings and treatment technologies in the field of critical illness.
