The 2024 Annual Academic Conference of the Immunology Committee of the Chinese Society of Pathophysiology was successfully held in Guangzhou.

On December 15, 2024, the "2024 Annual Academic Conference of the Immunology Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Pathophysiology" was successfully held in Guangzhou. This conference was hosted by the Immunology Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Pathophysiology and the Tumor Stem Cell Research Institute of Dalian Medical University, and co-hosted by the Institute of Hematology of Sun Yat-sen University. More than 100 members of the Immunology Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Pathophysiology, young members, and teachers and students from Sun Yat-sen University engaged in basic and clinical research participated in the conference, both online and offline.

The conference invited experts in the field of immunology to give wonderful reports on the mechanisms, treatment strategies, and cutting-edge progress in anti-tumor immunity. Professor Yang Qingkai, a member of the Immunology Professional Committee and from Dalian Medical University, and Professor Chen Fangfang, a member of the Immunology Professional Committee and from the China-Japan Union Hospital of Jilin University, respectively gave academic reports on "Innate Immunity Sensing of Nucleic Acids and Tumors" and "Nanomaterial Complement Protein Crown-Mediated Myeloid Leukemia Targeted Immunotherapy".

Professor Chen Jun, a young member of the Immunology Professional Committee and from Sun Yat-sen University's Sun Yat-sen Medical College; Researcher Xia Xiaojun from the Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center; and Associate Professor Wu Chong from the School of Life Sciences at Sun Yat-sen University, respectively gave academic reports on "Research on the mechanism of macrophage tumor immune escape," "Endothelial STING regulates tumor vasculature to promote antitumor immunity," and "Spatial distribution of tumor immune cells and new strategies for immunotherapy".

Following this, Professor Wang Hongmei, a member of the Immunology Professional Committee and from the Basic Medical College of Nanchang University, gave a special party lecture on "Interpretation of the Spirit of the 20th Session of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee—6 Key Points." She hoped that the members and committee members of the committee would strengthen their political consciousness and sense of responsibility, and strive to improve China's research level in tumor immunity and targeted therapy.

Finally, Professor Liu Qiang, director of the Immunology Professional Committee, gave a concluding speech. He pointed out the need to continue strengthening exchanges and cooperation in the direction of tumor immunity, promoting in-depth multidisciplinary integration, better improving the innovative level of immunological research, and promoting the long-term development of China's immunotherapy field.

At this annual academic conference, experts focused on cutting-edge scientific issues in the field of immunology, sharing the latest research results and important progress, and jointly discussing new concepts and strategies for basic immunological research and clinical treatment of tumors. The conference reports were wonderful, the discussions were enthusiastic, and the conference received full affirmation and high praise from the participants, achieving complete success.
